Kia’s Soul Pricing Leaked

Pricing for the Kia Soul has leaked to the circles of car enthusiasts through several internet forums. The North American version of the car was first displayed in the Los Angeles Auto Show. The stylish hatch will have a sticker starting at $13995 not inclusive of the $695 destination charge.

The Soul is designed in Southern California and will target the younger market that goes for stylish economic cars. The production line will have several versions: Soul, Soul!, Soul+, and Soul Sport.

The Soul basic model will have a 1.6L engine coupled with manual transmission.

The Soul+ has a tag price of $15645 sporting a 2.0L engine and manual transmission in its engine bay. The automatic will sell for $16595.

The Soul! will also have a 2.0L going for $17645 (manual transmission) and $18595 (automatic). The Soul Sport seems to have the same price tag with an option to include a an audio package of $400 and a moonroof for $700.

The engine of Soul will have an output of 120 horsepower for the 1.6L and a 140 hp for the 2.0L option. Fuel mileage is expected to hit the 30 mpg mark.

The basic model of the car will feature nice 15 inch wheels, rear wipers with washer, black side mirrors and door handles. Amenities for the Soul+ include a keyless remote entry, a privacy glass for the rear seat passengers, and solar glass.

The Soul! rolls on 18 inch wheels while the Soul Sport is assembled with unique sport front and rear bumpers.

Kia aims to boost its global market presence by infusing new car models. Its first US plant will also be operational by 2010 and is looking at producing 300K vehicles annually.
